Developing and integrating a comprehensive IP strategy in a global marketplace

Intellectual Property is the life blood of many high-tech and biotech companies.  In the global economy, protecting your assets has never been more important or more challenging.

This seminar, sponsored by the Kentucky BioAlliance and Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation, will provide examples and solutions to your intellectual property questions.  The four speakers will discuss the unique challenges of IP in the global economy and help you begin to develop a strategic IP plan.

Topics include:
  • Pertinent differences between U.S. patent law and foreign patent law with respect to substantive patent requirements, and strategic considerations of a procedural nature
  • Patent Cooperation Treaty -- procedures and considerations, selection of PCT searching authority, and options for foreign pursuit of protection outside the PCT
  • Strategic considerations concerning the phase of development of the drug compound and other high-tech devices
