The Kentucky BioAlliance has established a fund to provide stipends for Kentucky-based biotech companies that are selected to attend the annual Biotechnology Industry Organization ("BIO") conference. The stipends are intended to help defray expenses associated with attending the conference with the goal of increasing the visibility of Kentucky-based biotech companies.
Award
Companies that are selected will be awarded a stipend to cover up to $800 in expenses associated with attending the annual BIO International Conference. Awardees will be required to submit original receipts to the Kentucky BioAlliance in order to receive the stipend.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for the stipend, the company must:
Be "Kentucky-based" (have at least 51% of its payroll and operations in Kentucky)
Demonstrate how attending the conference will assist in their commercialization efforts
Be able to incur any and all costs above the $800 stipend
Application and Selection
Applications will be reviewed by the Kentucky BioAlliance and a selection committee will select up to 6 qualified applicants to receive the award.

BIO International Conference
The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) hosts the annual BIO International Conference, the world's largest gathering of biotech companies. The conference attracts over 20,000 attendees representing over 2,000 companies from over 50 countries.
